On The Square Happy Holidays!Officers,
directors, and members of the Coldspring/San Jacinto County Chamber of Commerce
welcome you to San Jacinto County’s celebration of this special holiday and the
wonderful magic that a country Christmas can weave. During your visit, we hope
you and your family will find an atmosphere filled with Christmases of yesteryear
in the historic town of Coldspring and Old Town Heritage Center.
Vendors
will be set up all around the Square ... enjoy the local shops, crafts, food,
parade, and the great ambiance of the day. Watch the entertainment and let the
joy and peace of this season fill your hearts and bless you and yours. Thank you

with the 2007 event, all children’s area vendors will have to send in proof of
insurance for all rides and a flat fee will be charged for all children’s area
vendors. Craft
vendor spaces are $125.00, the food vendor spaces are $200.00, and an application

Booth
An information booth will be located on Byrd Street (FM 1514) in front of the
historic shops. Stop by for up-to-date information concerning entertainment at
the various locations in town, plus craft and food vendor information. the Chamber
You will also find brochures, souvenir Christmas on the Square programs, general
information regarding San Jacinto County, Christmas on the Square t-shirts, caps,
and various other souvenirs.

Old
Town Heritage Center
Take a hayride from the downtown square to Old Town! The Old Jail Museum, as well
as the schoolhouse co-op with several gift shops, the quilting shop, and all of
the other antique and gift shops, will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
and invite your patronage.
Have a wonderful time in Old Town and on the square and warm wishes for a happy,
holy Christmas from the San Jacinto County Historical Commission and Heritage
Society.
Security
• Parking • Restrooms
Volunteers from the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department and the Texas State
Guard will provide security and direct traffic during Christmas on the Square.
Parking for handicapped persons is located next to the San Jacinto County Courthouse
Annex. Others may find parking on various back streets surrounding downtown Coldspring.
Highway 150 through the downtown area will be closed to through traffic from Cedar
to Byrd Avenues during most of the day. Traffic will be rerouted around the Courthouse
Square.
Restrooms are located around the Courthouse Square for personal needs.
Santa’s
Country Craft Fair
Approximately 90 artisans
and vendors of antiques, crafts, and merchandise will line the courthouse square
on all four sides. All vendors will be open between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for
your shopping enjoyment.
You will be able to purchase gifts for friends, family, and even a few for yourself!
Santa’s
Country Food Fair
Between the corners of Cedar and Butler Streets - Opens at 9:00 a.m. and features
a variety of foods offered by state-licensed cooks.

at the Coldspring United Methodist Church Starting at 11:00 a.m. Serving Gumbo
and Rice, French Bread, Coffee or TeaAll
you can eat for $5.00 adults, $3.00 for children. Sponsored by the Coldspring

Tree
of LightsThe
lighting of the Tree of Lights will be held at 4:30 p.m. on the west side of the
San Jacinto County Courthouse. The Tree of Lights is sponsored by the San Jacinto
County Children’s Protective Services Advisory Board. Each ornament represents
a donation or contribution that provides Christmas gifts and festivities as well
as necessities throughout the year to county children. Send donations to P.O.
Box 343, Coldspring, Texas 77331 or call 936-653-3216. On
December 11th, the Advisory Board will be set up at a booth on the square to sell
shirts and raffle tickets for a hand crafted quilt prepared especially for Children’s
Protective Services by Loose Threads of Coldspring.
Chrismon
Tree While
visiting the historic Coldspring United Methodist Church, you will want to view
the annual Chrismon Tree, a Christmas tradition located in the church sanctuary. Chrismon
stands for Christian Monograms and this tree is a sight to behold. Church members
construct ornaments which are a symbol of his or her faith and the ornaments are
displayed on the Chrismon Tree.
