Historical Commission Book Sale

The Historical Commission is offering for sale Pre-1915 Law Books that were in the old courthouse when it burned down. These books are conversation pieces because of the date and the condition of the books.

Members of the Historical Commission have wrapped them up in a clear paper with a picture of the old courthouse in the background and several people sitting for a picture in front of the old courthouse. These are a group of books which some local historians believe were actually used by Sam Houston himself reference in his law practice.

They are offering the books for $10 each. There is a limited supply.

Contact the Old Jail Museum Thursday, Friday or Saturday at 936-653-2009.

What a great gift to someone who has roots and history in San Jacinto County.  All  sales will help the Historical Commission to maintain the Old Jail Museum.
